John Vaccaro

... (b. 2000) is an emerging artist and architectural researcher based in Montreal. Working primarily across video, costume, and performance, he traces the limits of the body and space—framed as aggregate sites of discipline, maintenance, and control—in search of tensions accrued on the surface.

Vaccaro holds a Master of Architecture from McGill University where he was awarded the Ping Kwan Lau Prize in Architecture for his final design project, Rehearsing the (*) Bathroom. He also collaborated with Sheila Nadimi and Hassan Saab on the design of Eagle Village, a limited-print artist book notably acquired by the Canadian Centre for Architecture, the National Gallery of Canada, and the Getty Research Institute.

He is currently working as an architectural design consultant with AK_A/FLDWRK and continuing his collaboration with Nadimi and Saab on a follow-up book set in Venice Beach, CA.
