John Vaccaro

... (b. 2000) is an on-and-off-and-on-again architectural worker, spatial researcher, and emerging interdisciplinary artist based in Montreal. Working primarily across video, costume, and performance, he stages theatrical representations of reality which frame the body and space as aggregate sites of discipline, maintenance, and control.

Vaccaro holds a Master of Architecture from McGill University where he was awarded the Ping Kwan Lau Prize in Architecture for his final design project, Rehearsing the (*) Bathroom. He also collaborated with Sheila Nadimi and Hassan Saab on the design of Eagle Village, a limited-print artist book notably acquired by the CCA, the National Gallery of Canada, and the Getty Research Institute.

He is currently working as an architectural design consultant with AK_A/FLDWRK and continuing his collaboration with Nadimi and Saab on a follow-up book set in Venice Beach, CA.
