JOHN VACCARO
John Vaccaro is a Montreal-based visual artist and M.Arch. graduate from the McGill Peter Guo-hua Fu School of Architecture (2023-2025) where he was awarded the Ping Kwan Lau Prize in Architecture for his final design project, Rehearsing the (*) Bathroom. Vaccaro approaches his design and art practice with a cautious criticality, seeking to undermine ordered and/or normative configurations of bodies and/in spaces. He has published essays on film, gender, and architecture and exhibited his work in various student-run publications and shows.
He has also collaborated with Sheila Nadimi (author) and Hassan Saab on the design of a 392-page photography book and archiving project titled Eagle Village: A Deep Mapping of Fallow Architecture published in June 2025. A series of maps also featured in the book (2) and digital collages (3) by the artist and aforementioned collaborators are on display at the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art in Logan, Utah, and were featured at the Weber State University Stewart Library in Ogden, Utah, respectively.
